Now is the best time to learn-camping tips and skills

Now is the best time for you to learn-camping. What if you could learn how to camp with as little stress as possible?

You could be one of the many who enjoy escaping their 9-5 job and look forward to the weekend camping trip with anticipation.

When you think about camping you shouldn't get a feeling of dread and frustration. If you do, then you might be going about it all wrong.

On this site, you will learn all about camping in tents, RV's and backpack camping. You'll learn about camping equipment, gadgets, tools and resources that will all help you and your family's camping experience be the best it can be.

Camping can reduce stress

Reducing stress in our lives in not only healthy, it helps us be happy. Our spouses and children all benefit when we reduce our stress levels.

My 45 year old husband had a heart attack in February 2007 and his doctor ordered him to reduce his stress load.

Yeah, right. How do you do that when you have three kids always pulling you in different directions? His job was a huge stress at that time, too. We knew that he would be permanently laid off by the end of June and would have to find new employment.

You can probably relate to this on one degree or another. It's called life. Everyone has stresses in their lives. You may not have had a heart attack, but I'm sure you have other stresses in your life that equally compare.

So, how does a person reduce stress in their life when it is virtually impossible to do so, but so vitally important?

GO CAMPING!

There is something so tranquil and relaxing about sitting around a crackling camp fire, sipping your favorite beverage and toasting marshmallows.

We camped more times in 2007 than any other previous year. We camped with our kids and we camped without them. Some of our camping trips included extended family members and friends. We made ourselves slow down and relax, and that lessened the stress load on both of us.

If you haven't ever gone camping before, now is the time for you to learn-camping. Think of it as medicinal. Anytime you have less stress, you are extending your life.

You can always learn new camping tips and ideas, no matter how many times you've camped in the great outdoors. I'm a seasoned camper, myself, and yet I'm always looking for new, easier ways to make the camping experience even better.

When I was a little camper our family summer vacations consisted of grand camping adventures in the forests of Idaho. We had an awesome canvas tent system complete with a leisure port and three bedrooms. In bad weather, we could cook inside the leisure port with our Coleman stove and use our propane lantern for light at night. Nice weather would find us around a large campfire with marshmallows toasting (flaming) on a freshly cut green willow stick.

We would go fishing in the early morning hours and hike around and explore throughout the day. Then we'd make up splendid meals at night using Dutch ovens and open flames.

I have fond memories of our many camping trips as a young girl. That's what camping is all about, making memories.

My husband also grew up in the outdoors. His family offered pack trips on horses into Yellowstone National Park and the surrounding areas. His knowledge of camping, horse riding, hiking and camp cooking is amazing. I often gleen information from his brain.

It doesn't matter if you're married, single, or retired, you can camp and enjoy it too!

On this site, you'll learn tips and tricks, recipes and camping check-lists, and discover the best camping equipment on the market. But most importantly you'll benefit from my my own first hand experience when it comes to camping that will help you learn-camping too.
