camping-food-ideas for dinner
Need some good camping-food-ideas? You came to the right place. Whether you want to do some grilling or cooking in your dutch oven or use your camping cookware on your Coleman stove, you'll get ideas on this page.
Let's just jump right in with Dinner ideas!
You never go wrong with hot dogs, unless you don't care for hot dogs. But assuming you do, try buying a different brand for camping. The flame licked, smoke covered taste combined with a slightly different 'dog' might make all the difference.
Steak and Fish are excellent camping-food-ideas. The steak pictured is probably a fillet mignon, but we like petite sirloin cuts. Grilling is the best way to prepare steak, in my opinion.
Fish can be freshly caught or purchased at the store. Buy a couple of fresh lemons to squirt over your fish.
Kabobs are another excellent dinner recipe. Try steak chunks with onion pieces, green pepper slices and capped with cherry tomato halves all skewered onto stainless steel skewers. These can be made ahead of time and marinated in light Italian dressing. You can substitute chicken pieces for steak, just be sure to cook the chicken completely.
Hamburgers are also easy to prepare on barbeque grills. You can buy the frozen patties and place them, frozen, right on the hot grill. I recommend you spray your grill first with non-stick spray. We like to splash Worcestershire sauce on the cooking burgers along with a little salt.
If you want to get fancy, you can make your own seasoned patties ahead of time and freeze them. I like to use wax paper between my patties for easy separation.
I had to laugh when I found this picture. This guy looks like he's offering a little more than just great tasting burgers.
Easy recipes are essential when camping.
We like to make
aluminum foil dinners.
If you've never made aluminum foil dinners before, then you've got to try them.
