family-camping-tip

The best family-camping-tip I can offer is-

DON'T OVER DO IT.

Some people think that they need everything that has ever been made or created in order for their camping experience to be great. It's just not true.

Simplicity is key to an excellent camping adventure. For one thing, your truck or trunk will only hold just so much stuff. So it is only natural that you would want to go as light as possible.

family tent

Your tent should be adequate but not overkill. The tenting system that I grew up with was rather large, but then again so was my family.

The tent I use now with my own family is large enough for all 5 of us to comfortably sleep in. We paid approximately $120 for it.

Your camping equipment should be kept to a minimum. Everyone has different camping needs and what one person feels is minimal, another person would feel is overkill.

You are the only person to please when camping. Take what you need and only what you need.

We keep everything inside of a large tote on wheels. All of our cooking utensils and pans easily fit with room to spare. We put our non perishable food items into the same tote along with other things like paper towels, aluminum foil, leather gloves, garbage bags, etc.

sleeping bag Another way to simplify your camping is by investing in heavy duty cold weather sleeping bags. They may cost more money initially, but will save you space if you don't have to pack extra blankets for warmth.

There are so many different kinds of styles to choose from. Just make sure that you pay attention to the temperature rating. Make sure the sleeping bag will withstand temperatures consistent to the area you plan to camp in.

An inflatable air mattress will support your back and keep you off the ground and takes up less space than the traditional egg carton pads. Don't forget to purchase an air pump. There are manual, battery operated, and electric pumps.

air bed Simplify your personals too. Minimize what you take on your trip. Remember, you are going camping, not to a beauty pagent. It is not necessary to bring all of your beauty aids.

Evaluate what basic needs you'll have on your camping trip such as dry skin lotion, hair elastics, minimal makeup, but only bring enough to feel good about how you look.

Clothing should be minimal too. Just make sure that you have adequate for warmth.
