Families need a large-camping-tent

A large-camping-tent that sleeps 6-8 people is perfect for family camping. There are so many brands and styles to choose from. What you want to keep an eye out for is weight, set-up ease, and durability.

The larger a tent is, the heavier the whole unit will be. Plus, most large tents are impossible to set up alone. Keep that in mind.

Durability and kids. Kids go in and out of the tent so often. If I had a dime for every time... well, I don't even have to finish that. High quality zippers, stitching and material will ward off easy tears and rips.

I found this Ozark brand tent on walmart.com. It sleeps up to 9 people and has a removable room divider to create two separate rooms. It also has hanging organizer shelves, which I think is the coolest idea, to keep your personals off of the floor. The reviews were excellent for this tent that cost just under $100. It weighs 24lbs.

This large-camping-tent is a Coleman brand and it also has the removable walls that can divide the interior into 3 different rooms. It is 72" tall in the center and comes with a door mat and dry line for gear. It has steel stakes and a mallet. I would still recommend taking a hammer because some ground can be rather rocky or hard. It weighs 23lbs and costs $70 at walmart.com. It had excellent reviews.

Jumping up a notch is this Cabela's Deluxe Backwoods Three-room Cabin. Capable of handling 10 persons, it has a 10ft x 20ft interior, 90" center height and has heavy-duty nylon taffeta fabric to ensure durability. It has detachable room dividers and a full coverage rain fly that covers the whole tent, as pictured. The door doubles as an awning. It has three doors which allows you to enter each room separately. This tent system also has the gear loft overhead and steel stakes. Plus, when the rain fly is attached, it creates waterproof vestibule space out each of the doors for your cooler, boots or packs. The cost is $289 and it weighs 42lbs. The customer reviews are excellent.

Another high quality Cabelas tent featuring two rooms with removable divider and measures 10ft x 16ft. It has a center height of 87" and sleeps 10. It is a great wet weather tent with a 1,200mm-waterproof-rated coating for superior protection in the wettest weather. 3/4" Steel frame and steel stakes gives excellent stability in high winds. It weighs 46lbs and costs $270. Excellent customer reviews.
